Prayer, Peace and the Presence of God

Prayer, Peace and the Presence of God

by David Butts

Thank you Lord, for becoming our peace. In your death, you tore down walls that divide and made us into one new person who lives in your peace. Help us to live out what you have placed within us. May your peace be a passion within us.

Lord Jesus, thank you for this amazing gift of your peace. You lived out this peace as you dwelt among us, and left it here for us. Help me to fully embrace your peace and live it daily. Especially in times of trouble, teach me to look to you and your peace rather than the turbulence in which I find myself. May my heart not be troubled, nor my fears overtake me because of the wonderful gift of your overwhelming peace.

Lord, I am so thankful that you understand the fears that I face. You don’t ever simply tell me to get over it. Instead, you assure me of your love and give me your peace. I confess my great need for this in our day of confusion and turmoil. I desperately need the peace that only comes from you.

Lord, I give you thanks for your overcoming power. You are the mighty One, King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Though you are the God of peace, your love of peace and desire for it in the lives of your people impels you to crush the stealer of peace, Satan, under our feet. Thank you, Lord, for providing that victory for us. Help me to walk in your victory and live out your peace in my life.

Lord, I am so grateful that you have provided for me green pastures to lay down in and still water to walk alongside. Thank you for preparing a table before me, even in the presence of my enemies. How grateful to know that your goodness and mercy will be with me always and that you have provided for me an eternal home. Most of all Lord, I am grateful that your presence is continually with me. Keep me aware of that amazing fact. Thank you for the peace that comes from your presence.

Father, you know the great need I have for your peace in my life. There are so many things that come along daily that seem to sap my strength and bring worry. I’m so grateful for your Word that assures me of your desire to bless me with your peace. Because of that, today I come before you with confidence, asking for the blessing of peace in my life.

Father, I thank you that you do not create confusion. As you brought order out of chaos at the creation of all things, so you desire to bring order out of the chaos of my life. Thank you for being a God of peace. Help me to so order my desires and life that I always match up to your peace.

Lord, I am so grateful for your presence in my life through your Spirit, filling me with your grace, mercy, and peace. May your peace pervade every aspect of my life, demonstrating to all around me of your amazing  presence. Lord, regardless of what happens around me, I confess, You are enough!

Lord Jesus, thank you for being willing to be sent by the Father for our benefit. Now Lord, help me to accept your call to go wherever you would send me. With the promise of your presence and your peace, I am able to go and do whatever you ask. I draw near to you now and with your peace covering me, I am content.

How grateful I am Lord, for your timing and the way you prepared me for the news of the medical issues I face. But you had already placed your peace in my life to guard and protect me. I know Lord, you want this for all your people. Help us to be those who walk daily in your peace as we spend our days with you.

Lord Jesus, thank you for preaching the gospel of peace. You know how much we would need that in our lives. You have provided for us through your life, death, burial, and resurrection all that we need for peace in this world and forever in your eternal house. Forgive me when I forget what you have provided and wallow in anxiety and fear. Today, I choose the peace that comes from your presence in my life.

Lord, I am so grateful for your presence that brings peace. It is so easy for me to fall back into my own fears, insecurities and anxieties, while all along you were there, waiting for me to turn to you. Forgive me for forgetting hour readiness and love. I turn to you now for the peace that I desperately need in my walk through this world.

Thank you Lord, for giving me your Spirit and allowing the fruit of your Spirit’s presence to be growing and active in my life. I know Lord, that each of those qualities or characteristics must be cared for and desired. I especially today take the peace you have given me through your Spirit and ask you to cause that to grow to the point where your peace overcomes everything that might attempt to steal that peace.

Lord, I delight in the fact that you both give us peace and at the same time ask us to pursue it. We all run after those things that are important to us. Your peace is so vital to our lives and well-being. I draw near to you today, enjoying your presence and accepting the peace you so freely offer.

Lord, thank you for giving me your peace. You literally spoke it into being in my life and I am so grateful. Help me to carry your peace with me wherever I go. Forgive me when I have failed and instead brought division and dissension. Show me how I can give your peace to those around me today.

Prince of Peace, how I desire you in my life and in our nation. I recognize the desperate need for your peace, a peace that comes from my relationship with you. Pour that out upon all your people, please. Give us the boldness to speak and live peace wherever we might be. May your peace begin to bring transformation to our nation as you increasingly are recognized as Lord!

Lord, today I choose to let your peace rule in my heart. Regardless of what happens around me, it is your peace that will rule within. Thank you that we have literally been called to this peace by you I am grateful!

Lord, help me to know you as Creator God, King of Kings and Lord of Lords. You are the one who has promised to be with me always. You are in my boat in the midst of any and every storm. May the peace of your presence allow me to trust you and turn from all fear.

Father, I come to you, the source of all peace. Your house is a place of peace and I come at your invitation to dwell in your house all the days of my life. Teach me to draw near each day, that your peace would pervade every aspect of my life.

Thank you Lord for being our overcoming God! You knew better than any of us how difficult this world would be and how desperately we would need your peace. So you promised that we can have that peace if we would desire it and ask you for it. You overcame the dark powers of this world and provided your peace for us. Thank you, Lord! Pour your peace into me now that I might demonstrate your overcoming power to those around me.

Lord Jesus, I am so grateful that you are not only a God of peace, but that you want to pass that peace to me. You literally commit yourself to keep me in peace. Help me to do my part. Help me through your Spirit to keep my mind stayed upon you and to trust you in every way.

Lord, I hate conflict. I really do want to live in peace with everyone. Help me to pursue peace and not just be apathetic about uncomfortable situations. Show me how to do all that I can to live in peace with others. I want to reflect your peace to everyone I know.

Lord, help me to want to run after you, seeking your face always. That’s where peace is to be found. Give me the strength to endure difficult times and to accept your peace while I am walking through those times. Help me to pay attention to the leading of your Spirit and to move always in your direction, being confident that your peace accompanies me on that path.
